Current Practice.
In my Independent Practice, clients are often self-referred.
Referrals also come from HR or Occupational Health Departments, and from Insurance Companies. Clients have also been referred by GPs and Ministers of Religion.  Corporate employers have also referred employees to me. Organisations have requested training days.

I have experience of, and am available for, on-site Critical Incident work.
On a regular basis, I work as a telephone counsellor and trainer for an EAP. I organise my own Training Days around the country.

Other experience has included working in a University Student Counselling Service and for a GP Practice comprising five doctors. I have also counselled adults in mental health settingsand have worked for a number of years in a Hospice setting. My agency work was with adults, young people, children and couples.

I use various models of working including CBT and Solution Focussed, Psychodynamic and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.

Supervision and Training.
I supervise counsellors in private practice and agency counsellors.  As a qualified teacher, I have trained counsellors and interested groups on counselling subjects, and assisted people with their B.A.C.P. Registration/Acccreditation.

I am a Senior Accredited Practioner with the BACP (British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists), and a member of the ESTD (European Society for Trauma & Dissociation)

My initial training as a counsellor was in 1995.
Prior to that I was a teacher specialising in teaching the deaf & partially hearing.
I later trained as a couple counsellor with Relate, and at Bristol University in critical incident trauma work. I'm a qualified supervisor and trained with Cascade Training Associates.
In 2001 I acquired my B.A.C.P. Registration/Accreditation.
In 2008 I trained in sensorimotor psychotherapy which uses a somatic approach linking neuroscience to attachment and trauma issues.
In 2010 I completed the Advanced Trauma Training Certificate with the SPI (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute).
I live in Tring and have three adult children.

As a registered counsellor with the British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists, I am bound by it's Ethical Framework for Good Practice, and am subject to it's Complaints Procedure.
